Laser tattoo removal at The Bliss Room can help clients remove multi-colored tattoos from their body. Clients who have changed their mind about the tattoo or are unhappy with its appearance may need laser tattoo removal.

The type of laser used for tattoo removal will depend on the type of tattoo.

How Does Laser Tattoo Removal Work?

Because tattoo ink is placed beneath the top layer of skin, tattoo removal is more complex and expensive than the original tattoo application. Laser beams send concentrated bursts of energy to heat the tattoo ink beneath the skin, breaking the ink into smaller particles and allowing the body’s immune system to naturally flush out the ink. Tattoos with multiple colors may require the use of multiple lasers to remove the tattoo.

    Benefits of Laser Tattoo Removal

Treatment is done on an outpatient basis and is generally safer than other tattoo removal options. Compared to other tattoo removal methods, laser treatment reduces the risk of scarring and infection.

Who is a Candidate For Laser Tattoo Removal?

Laser tattoo removal may be necessary if the client:

    • Regrets the tattoo
    • Is unhappy with the appearance of the tattoo
    • Has a tattoo that has faded or blurred
    • Believes the tattoo no longer fits their image

    Effectiveness of Laser Tattoo Removal

Clients may need multiple treatments, depending on the size and color of their tattoo. On average, laser tattoo removal requires three to eight visits. Clients should schedule a consultation with The Bliss Room to find out how many sessions that may need to remove their tattoo.

Factors affecting the success of laser tattoo removal include:

    • Skin color
    • Experience level of the tattoo artist (amateur or professional)
    • Depth of the tattoo pigment in the body
    • Client age
    • Size and type of the tattoo

Because tattoo ink is applied in layers, clients will need multiple sessions to remove the pigment. In addition, it takes time for the body to flush out the ink once the laser has broken the ink pigment into smaller particles.

What to Expect During Laser Tattoo Removal

The client will be given protective eye shields to wear during the procedure. The skincare specialist will begin by testing the skin’s reaction to the laser to determine the right energy level for treatment.

Next, the specialist will prepare The Spectrum Q-Switched Yag/KTP laser and go on to place a handpiece against the surface of the skin and activate the laser over the treatment area. Larger tattoos will require more pulses and multiple visits. With each session, the tattoo should become less visible.

How to Care For Skin After Laser Tattoo Removal

After each session, clients will need to apply an ice pack to the treated area to soothe the skin. A topical antibiotic cream or ointment may also be applied to protect the treated area.

Clients may shower the next day, but should avoid scrubbing the treated area. It’s important to cover the tattoo and protect the skin by applying sunscreen when outdoors. Clients should also avoid picking at the area to reduce the risk of scarring.

    Potential Risks And Side Effects
