Microneedling RF is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that utilizes small needles to prick the skin and stimulate blood circulation. Overall, the procedure helps to improve the appearance of skin.

    The Benefits of Microneedling RF

Also known as collagen induction therapy, microneedling provides the following benefits:

    • Reduce the appearance of acne scars and stretch marks
    • Stimulate collagen production
    • Stimulate the growth of skin tissue for smoother, firmer, and more toned skin
    • Reduce the appearance of wrinkles and large pores
    • Soften fine lines
    • Brighten skin
    • Address UV damage, such as hyperpigmentation and age spots

    Who Needs Microneedling?

The procedure may provide significant benefits to patients in good health who are experiencing skin issues that have not responded to home treatments or other skin procedures.

Microneedling is generally not recommended for people who use certain acne medications or pregnant women.

    Microneedling vs. Home Rollers

Home rollers are a less effective alternative to professional microneedling. Rollers don’t make punctures deep enough to provide visible results. Though home treatment with homerollers is less expensive and less painful, patients will need to undergo microneedling to address stubborn skin concerns, like acne scars, wrinkles, age spots, and large pores.

How to Prepare For Microneedling RF

Before treatment, patients should speak to a Bliss Room practitioner to find out what they need to do to prepare for the procedure. They may need to stop taking certain medications, such as ibuprofen, and acne creams. Patients may also need to stop using topical retinoids to reduce their risk of certain side effects.

    The Equipment We Use

At The Bliss Room, our skin professionals use the PiXel8-RF system to deliver the highest quality results. The system uses bi-polar RF energy and minimally invasive microneedles to heat the patient’s skin deep beneath the surface. The heat supports collagen growth and stimulates the regeneration of elastin cells.

Depending on the patient’s skin and treatment objectives, the practitioner may adjust energy levels from .5mm to 3.5mm. While the patient’s skin is being heated, the Arctic Chiller Cold Air System cools the skin with 1,300L of cold air per minute, helping to minimize patient discomfort.

    What to Expect During Treatment

To begin treatment, the physician or skincare professional will cleanse the skin and apply a topical anesthetic. Then, the practitioner will use the PiXel8-RF system to evenly prick the skin. Each pinprick is extremely tiny, and patients won’t be able to see the pricks after treatment.

    Potential Risks & Side Effects

Immediately after the procedure, patients are likely to have mild skin irritation and redness that may last a few days. This is a normal response to the intentional “injuries” created by treatment. Patients are free to apply makeup to cover the redness.

Other risks of microneedling include bleeding, bruising, infection, and peeling.

How to Protect The Skin After Treatment

After the procedure, patients should apply sunscreen to protect their sensitive skin. The micro injuries caused by microneedling force the skin to grow new cells very quickly. Patients should see visible results within a few weeks.
