In May 2020, Galderma, the company behind Restylane, received FDA approval for Restylane Kysse, a hyaluronic acid filler for lip augmentation and lines above the upper lip. Kysse was available in other countries before its U.S. approval.
Kysse (pronounced “kiss”) is made with Galderma’s XpresHAn (aka “expression”) Technology, which is how the company describes the way its hyaluronic acid gel is crosslinked.
The gel is designed to move with the lips, and your provider can explain how it may feel compared with other lip fillers.
How long lip filler lasts varies by product and by person. Results from Kysse may last up to one year for some patients. Your provider can talk with you about how much product you may need and what pricing to expect.

A week before the procedure you need to stop taking aspirin, Aleve, Motrin, fish oil, multivitamins and Vitamin E as these can act as a blood thinner and contribute to post-injection bruising.
Patients may experience swelling, bruising, or tenderness, which often improves within a few days. Also, avoid drinking from a straw right after the procedure and don’t sip hot liquids, as your lips will be numb and you may accidentally burn yourself.
