Best Fillers for Cheeks

Cheek fillers are a great way to add fullness to the cheeks and restore a younger appearance. There are a multitude of options to choose from before scheduling the procedure, so here’s what you need to know.

Why Get Cheek Filler?

Time and gravity work together to reveal the signs of aging: sagging skin, loss of elasticity, decreased collagen production, and more fine lines and wrinkles. Though creams and noninvasive facial treatments can help ease these signs of aging, there comes a point where only cheek fillers can help effectively restore volume loss.

Cheek fillers are also a great way to maintain healthy volume in the midface. Trained injectors know how much filler is necessary to keep the face looking young and vibrant for a wide range of clients with unique beauty concerns.

Benefits of Cheek Fillers

Cheek fillers can help resolve under eye hollows, accentuate cheek bones, and replace lost volume.

Loss of skin volume can lead to hollows under the eyes, causing the skin to become darker and creating dark circles under the eye. Lifestyle factors like stress and poor diet can also contribute to under eye hollows. Fillers under the eye and around the cheekbones can help replace lost volume, reduce darkness under the eyes, and create a more youthful appearance.

Cheek fillers can also help accentuate the cheek bones and make them appear more pronounced and visible. High, sculpted cheekbones are a strong symbol of youth and highly desired among clients who get dermal fillers.

Loss of volume in the cheeks is a normal part of aging. Over time, facial fat pads move down the face and cause sagging skin. Cheek filler injections can address this issue by restoring lost volume.

The Best Cheek Fillers On The Market

Two popular cheek filler brands are Juvederm and Restylane. Both fillers contain hyaluronic acid and last an average of six to 12 months. The specific products are Juvederm Voluma XC and Restylane Lyft.

Juvederm Voluma XC contains a small amount of lidocaine, a local anesthetic, that helps minimize discomfort during the procedure. The filler is created using VYCROSS technology that involves adding a small amount of a biodegradable compound called BDDE to crosslink the hyaluronic acid in the gel. This creates a specialized smooth gel filler and produces long-lasting results at the treatment area. Results can last up to two years.

Restylane Lyft is injected using an ultrafine needle or a small, blunt-tipped cannula to help increase the fullness of cheeks. The lidocaine in the filler also helps reduce pain and discomfort during and after injection. Results can last between two and twelve months. The body gradually absorbs the hyaluronic acid and the filler eventually disappears from the body, requiring additional injections.

Compared to Juvederm Voluma XC, Restylane Lyft has a higher viscosity and mimics the client’s own hyaluronic acid production to improve fullness in the cheeks.

We encourage clients to schedule a consultation to learn more about cheek fillers and find the one that is right for their goals and expectations.
